About Gavrila

Gavrila Brotz is a founding member and partner of the Firm. She received her undergraduate degree in International Relations from Tufts University in 1998, a diploma from the international program at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris in 1997, and her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2006.

Prior to becoming one of the founding members of Ferrentino + Brotz, Gavrila was a partner at a prestigious Florida law firm where she specialized in health care litigation, trial and appellate support, and business and contract disputes. Her current practice focuses on handling strategic issues for healthcare providers in litigation, specializing in threshold and complex questions of law, as well as counseling clients concerning their policies and procedures.

Gavrila’s practice includes advising healthcare industry clients regarding data protection pursuant to various medical quality review privileges. She assists healthcare facilities and practitioners in addressing requests for information sought under Article X, section 25 of the Florida Constitution, commonly known as Amendment 7, The Patients’ Right to Know about Adverse Medical Incidents. As part of her practice, Gavrila has appeared throughout the State of Florida, litigating before trial and appellate courts regarding how to interpret the constitutional provision and its effects on discovery, use, and admissibility of such materials.

Gavrila is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit.  She is an AV Preeminent Rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.  She frequently serves as a judge and coach for moot court teams at her alma mater, and often serves as a panelist and speaker at healthcare industry events.
